Tools for Humanity is a global hardware and software development company. It helped launch Worldcoin and continues to provide support to the Foundation, in addition to operating the World App.
The Lead privacy engineer will ensure the continual alignment of technology solutions against the organization’s privacy and legal-related requirements. This role is the technical side of privacy, requiring a strong understanding of the relevant systems and services while also coordinating and interfacing with the core business and legal/regulatory departments across the organization.
Responsibilities
Crafting Privacy Solutions: Develop, implement, and maintain cutting-edge solutions that seamlessly apply privacy policies across our technology and information assets.
‘Privacy by Design’ Advocacy: Champion the integration of advanced privacy technologies throughout the Software Development Lifecycle, ensuring a proactive and strategic approach to privacy.
Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with product and marketing teams to guarantee that every use of data aligns with privacy best practices and incorporates the necessary privacy components.
Holistic Data Management: Assist in managing data privacy, data protection, data usability, and data security solutions, collaborating with developers and systems management personnel to ensure alignment with privacy principles.
Guiding Innovation: Provide expert guidance on developing new privacy features and functionalities, contributing to our commitment to a robust privacy posture.
Continuous Improvement: Conduct regular privacy assessments, identifying areas for improvement to enhance our organization’s overall privacy resilience.
Transparent Communication: Effectively communicate progress, issues, and relevant information to key stakeholders and management, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.
Align and advocate for advanced technologies in a “Privacy by Design” approach throughout the Software Development Lifecycle

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with the implementation and support of privacy-related technology solutions in a security or other technically-relevant role.
- Certification in privacy-related standards (e.g., CIPP, CISSP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with relevant privacy laws, regulations, and best practices (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g. Typescript, Rust) and web and mobile development technologies.
