The Fabricant is a Digital Fashion House leading the Fashion industry towards a new sector of digital-only clothing that is sustainable, equitable and web3 ready. We have made a name for ourselves in photo-real 3D Fashion Design and Animation and our work operates at the intersection of Fashion and Technology; creating digital-only couture and experiences that are always digital, never physical.


The role


We are seeking an experienced Head of Engineering to lead our Development team in building our “Studio” platform and implementing new features into production. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and proven leadership skills to manage a team of Software Engineers and deliver high-quality software products. The Head of Engineering will work closely with the CTO, Product team, Business Development, and other stakeholders to ensure the Development team is always aligned with the company’s goals and objectives.


Responsibilities:



  • Manage and lead a team of Software Engineers to deliver high-quality scalable software products on-time and within budget

  • Define and implement software development processes, standards, and best practices for web app development and web3 integration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and technical feasibility of new features and products

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance on software design, architecture, and development methodologies, with a focus on React for Frontend and AWS Cloud for the Backend

  • Continuously monitor and assess the team’s performance, skills, and capacity to ensure they are meeting or exceeding expectations

  • Identify and recruit top engineering talent as needed to support the growth and expansion of the Development team

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and contractors for specialized services and support as needed

  • Work with the executive team to create a technology roadmap that aligns with the company’s strategic goals and objectives, with a focus on creating scalable and reliable architectures

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in web app development and blockchain, and recommend adoption of new technologies and tools to improve development productivity and efficiency


Job requirements



  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and web application development, with a focus on full-stack development

  • 5+ years of experience in leading and managing software engineering teams

  • Strong technical skills and experience with web application frameworks such as React, and AWS for the backend, as well as blockchain technologies (Ethereum, Flow)

  • Experience in building platforms that manage media assets, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and user-friendly. Large scale e-commerce websites are a plus

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues

  • Proven track record of delivering software products on-time and within budget

  • Experience in Agile development methodologies, and knowledge of project management tools such as Jira
