About the role


Outlier Ventures is looking for a Web 3 Finance Analyst to help our Finance, Portfolio and Investor Relations teams to increase their analysis and reporting capacity. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication qualities, exceptional understanding of web 3 and/or early stage investing, a high level of tidiness when dealing with tasks and data, and a track record of successfully providing analysis and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.


Reporting to the Finance Director, the Web 3 Finance Analyst will be responsible for analysing and reporting Portfolio performance, Portfolio valuations, Business Key metrics, and any other ad hoc projects. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Whilst we try to create very comprehensive and detailed Job specs, the web 3 ecosystem works at a high speed making it common to get added and removed new responsibilities by time.


Key Responsibilities



  • Conduct financial analysis to support the Finance, Portfolio, and Investor Relations teams.

  • Assist in the development of spreadsheets, scenarios, and projections to assess portfolio valuations and project performances.

  • Analyse trends, performance metrics, and financial ratios to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation.

  • Collaborate with business units to understand their financial requirements, provide insights, and support decision-making processes.

  • Monitor and evaluate financial performance against benchmarks, industry peers, and run ad hoc competitor analysis.

  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management to optimise investment strategies and mitigate risks.

  • Assist in the preparation of presentations for ad hoc projects.

  • Documentation of best practices and new processes.

  • Work on ad hoc projects.

  • Enjoys a multi-faceted role which requires both analytical and operational thinking.

  • Excel whiz who can build excel models

  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Web 3 and/or investment knowledge is a must

  • 2+ years’ experience in similar roles.

  • Positive and progressive mindset, entrepreneurial and ambitious personality.

  • Down to earth, team player and “can do” personality traits.
