What’s the Job

We’re looking for a Europe based quantitative trader - someone with the skills to create, develop, and execute qualitative trading strategies within the Chainflip AMM and using other markets. The Chainflip AMM creates new and totally unique strategies which we have modelled, and given the anticipated liquidity available to the protocol, presents a large opportunity for a trader with the skills to program, deploy, and upgrade high-frequency trading software to share in the success of this protocol.

We’re looking for someone with previous experience as a quantitative trader, ideally someone who has developed their own proprietary software and would be willing either to adapt their own code or to write a new stack to execute these new strategies. Aside from a competitive base salary and incentive package, we are offering a commission on all profits earned by the liquidity fund through the strategy.

Who you’d work with

The quantitative trader would be working closely with our liquidity team, from our newest office based in Dublin, Ireland. The liquidity team is led by Lorenzo Valente, previously head of business development at Chainflip Labs. Lorenzo has had experience as the founder of an OTC brokerage and a senior analyst at a major cryptocurrency fund.

Who should apply

If you’re willing to relocate to Dublin, have at least 2 years of professional experience as a trader, and are excited about new and exciting opportunities to independently develop never-before-seen trading strategies working closely with the team developing the protocol, this one’s for you.

Salaries and Token packages are on offer that are commensurate with skill and experience. Commissions are negotiable. Please indicate your expected salary range when applying, and we will take that into consideration during the interview process.

What we do

Chainflip is a blockchain project that uses multi-party-computation and threshold signature schemes to allow our decentralised validator network to secure assets across multiple arbitrarily differentiated blockchain networks, with the ultimate goal of allowing users to swap between various cryptocurrencies across multiple blockchains in a trustless and programmatic way.

In other less jargony words, Chainflip is a cross-chain AMM. Liquidity providers can deposit native assets across multiple blockchains, which then through a Uniswap v3 style range order system, can be tightly managed far more frequently and cheaply than is possible on Ethereum based AMMs. This has the effect of making the Chainflip liquidity pools behave more like traditional order books, presenting the opportunity for market makers to capitalise on spreads by matching incoming orders against liquidity found on other exchanges. Chainflip is a unique AMM system, read more about it here.

Building this is a very tightly coupled engineering challenge, one that we’ve been working on for over a year. It is a multidisciplinary exercise in distributed systems, decentralised finance, blockchain consensus mechanisms, cyber security, applied cryptography, and front end tooling. However, we have the opportunity to help users of our protocol by developing and executing our own market making strategy in-house, among other quantitative trading opportunities presented by the Chainflip protocol.

The Process

Please submit your CV for review. A screening call will be conducted by our operations manager. As this is a technical role, the first stage is a 1hr remote real-time code interview run by our existing engineering team in a language of your choice. Following this you will have a more informal meeting with some other members of the team. From there, if successful, a final review with the CEO will take place. This whole process can take as little as 1 week for the right candidate.
