About the Role


ZetaChain is at the forefront of building the first fully interoperable layer-1 blockchain. We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Product Engineer to spearhead the development of innovative Web3 applications powered by our cross-chain interoperability layer.


This role is perfect for someone who thrives on building new user-facing products from scratch, enjoys the fast pace of a startup, and wants to be on the bleeding edge of cross-chain Web3 technology. As a team lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our product engineering culture, mentoring other developers, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with cross-chain dApps.


Blockchain experience isn’t required if you have a proven track record of building successful products. This role won’t need to write smart contracts but you will need to develop a strong understanding of Solidity and how to interact with Web3 smart contracts and assets. Experience across other chains like Solana, SUI, Bitcoin, or TON is a huge plus.


What You’ll Do



  • Lead a small, agile team of product-focused engineers building powerful cross-chain Web3 applications

  • Build full-stack features that touch everything from contract interactions to slick frontend interfaces

  • Work closely with design, protocol, and ecosystem teams to bring innovative universal apps to life

  • Solve hard technical problems, from user onboarding to high-throughput systems

  • Contribute to open-source projects and shape best practices in a rapidly evolving space


You Should Have



  • 3+ years of software engineering experience

  • Strong full-stack background, with a focus on building consumer products

  • Experience leading projects, teams, and mentoring engineers

  • Proven track record shipping production-grade applications, ideally in Web3 or fintech


Bonus Points



  • Solid grasp of Web3 architecture: how contracts, wallets, assets, and RPC interactions work

  • Experience across multiple blockchain ecosystems (e.g., Solana, SUI, Bitcoin, TON)

  • Background at both fast-moving startups and more structured organizations

  • History of launching products from 0 → 1

  • Experience building applications at scale (millions of users)

Our Tech Stack


We’re a polyglot team and value engineers who can navigate across boundaries. You are not expected to be an expert in every area and you’ll be working closely with our Protocol Engineering and SRE teams but it helps to understand the tools we use. Our core stack includes:



  • Frontend: TypeScript, Next.js, Redux Toolkit, GraphQL, tRPC, Ethers.js

  • Smart Contracts: Solidity, Foundry/Hardhat, Rust

  • Backend / Infra: Go, Rust, Docker, Kubernetes

  • Others: GitHub Actions


Compensation


Base Salary: $150,000 – $200,000 (San Francisco benchmark)
This range reflects base salaries for roles in the San Francisco market. For candidates in other locations, compensation is adjusted to remain competitive within their local market.


In addition to the base salary, all full-time team members receive an additional 10% to 25% in liquid benefits with upside based on role, experience, and impact. We believe in building together and sharing in the long-term success of the network. Compensation packages are designed to be competitive and aligned with the growth of both the team and the ecosystem.
