This page lists Solidity developer jobs — smart contract roles on Ethereum and other EVM chains. Listings come from DeFi protocols, NFT and gaming teams, wallets, infrastructure providers and audit firms, and cover both writing contracts and reviewing them.
Titles include smart contract engineer, Solidity developer, protocol engineer and blockchain engineer, and the same job may use any of them. Employers commonly ask for Foundry or Hardhat, familiarity with ERC standards and proxy patterns, gas optimization, and testing habits suited to code that is expensive to change once deployed. Security experience carries weight here, so audit work, CTF results and public contract repositories are worth putting near the top of an application.
What skills do Solidity developer jobs ask for?
Most listings expect Solidity itself plus a testing and deployment toolchain — Foundry or Hardhat — and a working knowledge of the ERC token standards, upgradeable proxy patterns and gas costs. Security reasoning matters more than in most backend work, so teams look for people who can name common attack classes and write tests around them. Some roles also ask for TypeScript for integration work.
Do I need a computer science degree to get a Solidity job?
Usually not. Because contract code is public, hiring teams can read what you have actually shipped, and verified contracts, audit reports, competitive audit placings and open-source contributions carry real weight. A degree helps in research-leaning roles and at larger firms with formal requirements. Check the requirements on each listing rather than assuming a hard bar.
What is the difference between a Solidity developer and a blockchain developer?
Solidity developer usually means on-chain work: writing, testing and auditing contracts on EVM chains. Blockchain developer is broader and can mean backend services, node infrastructure, protocol work in Rust or Go, or full-stack integration with a chain.
