About DeFi Jobs

This page lists DeFi jobs at lending protocols, decentralized exchanges, derivatives platforms, stablecoin issuers and the risk and analytics teams that support them. Roles run from smart contract engineering and quantitative research to product, growth, governance and support.

DeFi hiring leans on money-handling experience. Engineering listings ask for Solidity or Vyper plus audit-minded habits; research and risk listings ask for Python, data work and an understanding of liquidations, oracles and market structure. If you come from trading, banking or insurance, say so early in your application, because that experience maps onto the parts of the job that are hardest to teach.

What is a DeFi job?

A DeFi job is a role at a company or protocol that offers financial services on-chain, such as lending, trading, staking or issuing a stablecoin. The work looks like fintech with a public codebase: contracts that move funds, dashboards that monitor them, and teams handling risk, treasury and governance. Some employers are companies with payroll, others are protocols that pay contributors from a treasury.

What skills do DeFi employers look for?

Smart contract roles ask for Solidity, testing with Foundry or Hardhat, and a habit of thinking about how code fails under adversarial conditions. Analytics and risk roles ask for SQL, Python and tools that read chain data. Across both, employers value people who can explain a mechanism clearly, since protocols publish documentation and governance posts that users read before they deposit.

Are DeFi jobs remote?

Many are. Protocol teams often work in public and hire across time zones, so remote listings are common. Some employers still restrict hiring to certain countries for tax or licensing reasons, and trading-adjacent roles are more likely to want an office. Check the location line on each listing, and type "remote" into the location box on this page to filter the list.
