About Blockchain Developer Jobs

This page lists blockchain developer jobs — smart contract, protocol, backend and full-stack engineering roles at crypto and Web3 companies. Employers use several titles for closely related work, so blockchain engineer, Web3 developer, smart contract developer and protocol engineer listings all appear here.

The work splits roughly three ways: on-chain code (contracts and runtime logic), off-chain infrastructure (nodes, indexers, APIs, data pipelines) and the application layer (wallet integrations, dapp front ends). Solidity, Rust, Go and TypeScript are the languages you will see most often. If you already know which layer suits you, narrow further with /jobs/solidity for contract work or /jobs/rust for systems and protocol roles, or subscribe for a daily email of everything new on the board.

What does a blockchain developer do?

It depends on the layer. On-chain developers write and test the contracts or runtime logic that execute on a network, while infrastructure developers run nodes, build indexers and APIs and keep data flowing. Application developers connect wallets and front ends to those systems. Most job descriptions name the layer in the first few responsibilities, so read there first.

How do I become a blockchain developer with no experience?

Build and deploy something small on a testnet, publish the code, and write up what broke — hiring teams can verify public work, which is a real advantage in this field. Existing backend, mobile or front-end experience transfers well, since much of the stack is ordinary software engineering. For roles that expect less background, see /jobs/entry-level and /jobs/internships.

Which programming languages are used for blockchain jobs?

Solidity dominates Ethereum and EVM chains. Rust is common on Solana, Polkadot and newer protocol and infrastructure work. Go appears in node clients and backend services, and TypeScript runs most front ends, SDKs and integration layers. Many listings ask for one primary language plus willingness to read the others, since teams rarely stay in a single stack.
