Job Position: Rust Substrate Pallet Developer

About UMI Digital

Umi Digital is an ambitious multichain art project that merges the concept of NFTs with Decentralised Finance (DeFi) and Yield Farming. All members are passionate about art, creating innovation in the NFT scene and building the cryptocurrency ecosystem. We are creating a DeFi Farming platform and NFT minter. The app will be built on Sora (XOR) blockchain; a custom substrate parachain on the polkadot network; thus we are building on the Substrate framework and coding in Rust as Substrate Pallet.

The role

We’re looking for a talented Rust developer with expertise across DeFi, financial/token engineering or farming mechanisms to help us take UMI to the next level. We have lots of exciting things planned on the roadmap and want to continue delivering innovative, robust and performant solutions as we move forward.

Initial Responsibilities

• Backend Engineer: Implement, test, and audit open-source software that is used to interact with Substrate based Rust Pallets on the Sora blockchain


• Custom Substrate Pallet: Architect, develop, test and deploy custom Substrate Pallet in Rust on the Sora blockchain, with a focus on security, simplicity and ease of use


• Maintain Code: Maintain off-chain code in the Umi Digital & Soramitsu opensource repositories on GitHub


• Develop high-quality code that is maintainable, performant and accessible

What you’ll need

• Provable experience delivering high quality, functional code running on Substrate blockchains such as Polkadot


• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics


• Strong experience in OOP languages: Rust, WebAssembly (Wasm), Javascript, C++, web3


• Experience/Ability to code Rust Pallets in Substrate Runtime framework

Nice to have

• Interest in Polkadot ecosystem, NFTs, and Decentralized Finance


• Experience with Git & Github, WebAssembly (Wasm), Substrate Runtime


• Experience with C++, Rust, FRAME and Substrate Pallets


• Experience with HTML and CSS


• Experience in Financial Engineering in the DeFi ecosystem


• Experience contributing to or managing open source projects

Compensation

• Contract duration: 3-6 months


• Salary: $5,500 USD per month


• Start time: Immediately


• Generous token allocation in $UMI
