Position Overview:
As a Bookkeeper at ChainSafe Systems Inc., you will play a crucial role in maintaining our financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. You will work closely with the finance team to track and record financial transactions, prepare financial reports, and contribute to the overall financial stability of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded.
- Invoicing: Prepare and send invoices to clients or customers, as well as follow up on outstanding payments.
- Expense Tracking: Track and categorize company expenses, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with company policies.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in processing payroll, including calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and ensuring timely payments to employees.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax laws.
- Vendor Management: Maintain email contact with vendors and suppliers, process payments.
- Record Retention: Organize and maintain financial records, ensuring they are easily accessible for audits or inquiries.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Being located in Toronto, ON, Canada
