At Toucan, we are building the infrastructure to reverse climate change.

The climate crisis stems largely from a misalignment of incentives. Polluters don’t pay for their emissions. The voluntary carbon credit market is changing this, enabling companies to offset their emissions by paying projects to capture carbon. Today, this market is highly wasteful due to a lack of liquid markets, forcing projects to go through layers of financial middlemen that take 50-80% fees.

Toucan is enabling a web3 regenerative finance ecosystem by bridging carbon credits into crypto and pooling them in standardized categories. We have created the first globally accessible and liquid market for voluntary carbon credits. Working with T1 DeFi protocols and the community we enable carbon credits to be used in a variety of use cases, including green assets, NFTs, collateral and yields. In the first month, our Base Carbon Tonne did 2b$ in volume and we have bridged over 16m tonnes of CO2, equivalent to the emissions of Kenya. We are just getting started, and need top talent that want maximum leverage in solving the climate crisis to join us to build this regenerative finance ecosystem.

That’s where you come in: we are looking for diverse designers with a variety of skills, backgrounds, and specialties to join our growing Design team, tell our story and accelerate our mission.

Your Role

As a core member of the Design Team you are an advocate for good design, design culture and love to share your process/insights. You are an evangelist for accessibility and inclusivity in design ensuring that your products and work leaves no one behind.

As our Senior Product Designer you will work on new features of the Bridge and Meta-Registry as well as:

• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to research, concept, prototype and iterate on Toucan’s products


• Work with product managers and engineers to define long-term strategy and the short-term tactics for our products


• Close collaboration with designers and engineers to develop, expand and maintain product design systems

Requirements

• Have 5+ years relevant design experience at a tech, product-driven organization


• Demonstrable experience leveraging and evolving design systems and component libraries


• Deep experience with Figma and using Figma Plugins


• Strong experience designing and shipping web applications (incl. design, strategy, and systems)


• Autonomous in your work and excellent communication in across teams


• Located between GMT-8 and GMT+2 (San Francisco to Kiev)
