ClancyWorld
Sr. Software Engineer (Web 3.0)
Clancy International Inc. | Canada (Remote)
Clancy International is working with fan-driven markets in sports, music & entertainment to create interactive NFT collectables. We work with some of the world’s most recognized brands, helping them enter the NFT space in a way that integrates with their existing marketing ecosystem. The result is fans engaging with exclusive content that drive frictionless e-commerce and new revenue streams. We’re currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our team and help build the engineering department from processes to people.
What You Will Do:
- Lead our engineering operations as the intermediary between our partners and Clancy International; as we’re in the early stages of building our organization we currently work with a number of incredible partners. We have external partners who work on establishing the front-end layer of our product, those who help manage the CRM data and online marketing for client projects, and our blockchain partners. Our primary goal is to see our first projects in the market and you will be interfacing with these partners on a daily basis to ensure their work connects into our architecture and backend product. There is a large part of this work that requires relationship and project management amongst our partners. The technology component requires you to work with the APIs that connect their work to our product and help establish the architecture that makes it replicable moving forward.
- Build our early architecture and engineering processes and protocols; we’re a new company in a very new field. You’ll be working to establish engineering and development protocols of our product within a CI/CD environment. You’ll help architect our internal product and solution while working to set up our policies with other technology partners. You will help model our databases that help us connect to and leverage our clients’ information. All of this will be done with strong documentation and a foundation that allows us to grow exponentially over the next couple years.
- Code and build our product; in addition to building out our microservices architecture, you’ll be hands-on coding our product and creating the APIs/database infrastructure needed for us to launch our projects. You’ll be responsible for full cycle development, deployment and testing until we begin to further grow our engineering team. The challenge will be to take input from multiple sources and ensure that it converges together on our platform to release NFT collectables to fans that they can buy, trade and sell in our marketplace.
Who you are:
- Someone who thrives in an ambiguous environment; being a startup in a new industry creates the ultimate level of ambiguity. You’ve likely worked in this type of environment before and while you’ve seen many other people struggle, it was the perfect fit for you. You’re not easily frustrated by changing priorities, hands-on investors, working with imperfect information or having too much to do. You know that this short-term stage in a company’s life cycle is necessary to break into a new market and be successful.
- Focused on research and learning; while we’re currently working with AWS, Node.js, REACT and a number of APIs, you’re keen on continuously learning new languages and processes required to build on blockchain and Web 3.0 interfaces. You’re senior enough to have been exposed to changing programming technology and have the ability to quickly learn and develop in whatever technology is required to get the job done.
- Champion of high-quality communication; you’re a pro at thinking from another person’s perspective which allows you to understand business and client needs. Since you’ll frequently be in meetings with a variety of partners, you will be applying this skill when figuring out how to integrate data sources into our internal systems. Because of the amount of ambiguity in our market, we’re big on clear and direct communication and we take great pride in fostering a culture built on openness and collaboration. You notice what needs to change and propose solutions. You actively seek out feedback and help when you don’t know an answer. You’re not overly sensitive to direct communication and feedback because your biggest priority is getting the work done.
- A self-starter; it’s likely at this stage in your career, you’re confident in your profession and have a track record of working on successful projects. Since you’re a self-motivated, disciplined person who thrives on contributing to a bigger picture, you’re committed to working on initiatives with high potential and ROI. You don’t get stuck on problems for too long, because you make smart assumptions and move forward or ask for help and input from others when needed.
