We are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to join an innovative financial technology customer's project within the global financial services sector. The organization develops secure, technology-driven platforms designed to enhance the efficiency, reliability, and security of financial market operations. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to enterprise-wide security initiatives, strengthen the organization's security posture, and support the development of resilient, scalable, and compliant technology platforms.
Location - Luxembourg, remote.
Responsibilities
Security Architecture & Engineering: Design and implement security architectures, standards, and controls across applications, infrastructure, cloud, endpoints, and software development environments.
Security Operations: Manage vulnerabilities, patching, security monitoring, detection, control testing, and continuous security improvements.
Cryptography & Key Management: Oversee encryption, PKI, certificates, secrets, HSMs, digital signatures, and post-quantum cryptographic readiness.
Risk, Compliance & Governance: Translate security risks and regulatory requirements into practical controls, support audits and SOC 2 compliance, and maintain security policies and standards.
Incident Response & Forensics: Coordinate security incident response, conduct technical investigations and root-cause analysis, and maintain response procedures and playbooks.
Requirements
Must have
Master's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Security, or a related field, with at least five years of relevant security engineering experience.
Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise security across cloud, networks, infrastructure, identity, applications, Linux/macOS, containers, and Kubernetes.
Solid knowledge of cryptography, PKI, key and secrets management, HSMs, vulnerability management, compliance, incident response, forensics, and DevSecOps.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, GIAC, or equivalent.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent English communication, and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Nice to have
Experience with blockchain, DLT, or digital assets.
Background in regulated financial services or market infrastructure.
Experience with HSMs, post-quantum cryptography, security audits, cloud-native platforms, and DevSecOps toolchains.
