Full Stack Engineer

TL;DR:

Return Protocol is ready to welcome a Full Stack Engineer who will lead integrations between blockchain and traditional processes, as well as interact with APIs to keep the newest data constantly available. You will have the opportunity to drive the mass adoption of environmental offsetting by leveraging blockchain technology. This role will play an integral part in building Return, alongside shaping capabilities now and in the future.

Introduction:

We are Return Protocol. We are on a mission to accelerate the mass adoption of regenerative finance to solve the climate crisis. This first chapter of the Return journey starts with blockchains, as we strive to leverage the awesome tools web3 provides to make anybody’s life sustainable with a single click and payment, incentivised through social tools.

We’re an early stage startup that has recently closed a Pre-Seed round of $2.5m from some amazing partners and are growing at an incredible rate.

Your Role:

• Building a user-centric decentralized application to enhance the user experience.


• Develop a system to connect frontend, backend and blockchain interactions into a set of efficient full-scale AWS based applications.


• Working with the entire engineering team to enable logical system design and infrastructure, whilst optimizing for and ensuring responsiveness of applications and proper error handling.


• Maintaining attention to detail to collaborate with and subsequently deliver UI/ UX designs alongside the creative team.


• Staying ahead of developments in web applications and programming languages, including a willingness to accept what you don’t know, and learn it!

Your Background:

• Relevant work experience at a fast-growing software technology or blockchain focused startup.


• Enjoy and thrive both with building beautiful frontend applications and functional, secure and scalable backend infrastructure. You can stitch together many different services and processes even if you have not worked with them before.


• High energy and an enthusiasm for building a new product from the early stages – we are looking for a self-starter who likes to experiment, build and own new approaches, and is comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.


• BS degree in computer science or mathematics is a plus.


• Desired technologies:


• HTML, CSS and JavaScript (Angular JS or React).


• Python, TS, or other server-side languages/ technologies.


• SQL, especially using MySQL on AWS RDB.

Note: We are flexible and open minded about our tech stack, the above list is just our current focus.

There’s a lot of work to do and huge growth potential as the company scales. As such, please expect possible longer working hours and working weekends where necessary, this role comes with hustle!
