About Us


Within the next decade, investing will be decentralized, democratized, and community-driven. Syndicate is building the infrastructure to enable this at scale—we’re developing decentralized investing and social networking protocols, advanced legal tech solutions, and a next-gen social networking platform that empowers communities to raise, coordinate, and invest capital like never before.


Founded in Jan 2021, we’ve raised over $20M from values-aligned leaders who represent a diverse array of industries and communities, including firms like Andreessen Horowitz and its Cultural Leadership Fund, IDEO CoLab Ventures, Variant, Electric Capital, and over 200 others. We’ve also partnered with and received investment from over 100 community partners.


Our first product allows anyone to start an investing syndicate on Ethereum for just the cost of gas. The typical fees to set up an investing syndicate average $12,000 which allows us to be up to 1,200x less expensive than traditional methods. We’re using public blockchain technology to expand access to venture capital for entrepreneurs around the world because we believe that venture capital should be widely available rather than only accessible in a small handful of cities.

The Role


We are looking for an engineering leader with a strong background in scaling deeply technical products and building high-performance engineering teams. This is a unique opportunity for culture builders interested in playing an elemental role in shaping Syndicate’s engineering structures and cultivating the people and processes.


You Will:



  • Manage and coach a full-stack engineering team and guide the development of features and infrastructure across our products

  • Create and foster the engineering team’s culture. You will mentor each member of the team to help them reach their full potential.

  • Develop and implement processes to enable the team to deliver quality projects at a fast pace. This includes optimizing our sprint planning and execution, rigorously deploying security standards throughout the development stack, and spearheading a robust QA process.

  • Be a thoughtful technical voice. You will implement and execute a culture of data-informed decision making, with efficient processes and transparency.

  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and the founders to turn our vision into a tangible roadmap

  • Participate in the full development cycle: design, development, QA, experimentation, analysis, launch, and monitoring

  • Interview, hire, onboard, and lead the next generation of world-class Syndicate software engineers


Requirements:



  • Deep passion for helping engineers on their individual development journey.

  • 3+ years full-time software engineering experience.

  • 2+ years professional engineering management experience. You have managed a team including hiring, onboarding, and professional development.

  • Experience managing remote and distributed teams.


Nice to Haves:



  • Familiarity with popular UI or CSS frameworks like Theme UI, Tailwind CSS, and Material UI

  • Experience interacting with core web3 tooling such as web3.js, Infura, and MetaMask API

  • Demonstrable experience working with smart contracts, especially in Solidity
