At Matter Labs, we are building zkSync: a blockchain scaling solution secured purely by cutting-edge cryptography. Our mission is to scale Ethereum to billions of users, fully preserving its most valuable properties — permissionlessness, trustlessness, and resilience, — in order to protect and enhance global economic freedom.

We hold a strong opinion that zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) are the only technology today that can achieve this goal. We are also proud to be the pioneer of the ZKP tech on Ethereum, and one of the few companies in the world with strong expertise in this field. Our contributions over the last 3 years include the first ZK rollup ever built, the first implementation of recursive ZK proofs on Ethereum, and the world’s first practical FPGA-based ZKP accelerator. Most recently, we launched a zkEVM testnet, making zkSync the first ZK rollup capable of executing native Ethereum smart contracts.

The Role

• Maintain an expert understanding of the blockchain scalability market


• ​​Understand the zkSync protocol and developer tooling for dApp development


• Represent zkSync in online and in-person technical discussions (including public speaking)


• Cooperate tightly with the product, biz dev, and marketing teams to ensure that both end-users and developers fully understand the benefits and nuances of our product


• Produce various purposed content (technical tutorials, documentation, articles and videos) for user and developer audiences, effectively distilling complex topics


• Engage with the zkSync developer community through Github, Discord, Gitter, and other public channels


• Work closely with zkSync’s Product and Engineering teams by providing developer feedback to create the best developer experience

Your Profile

• A strong hands-on developer with experience in full-stack development


• Confident and comfortable presenting to an audience


• Driven by passion, curiosity, and desire to make a meaningful contribution to the world


• Strong understanding of the Ethereum technology and ecosystem


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and are adept at communicating technically complex topics in a simple and understandable way


• Highly collaborative, able to work well with technical and product teams, business development, and marketing


• Keen to understand the bigger picture of zkSync and the world it lives in - including business strategy, customer/consumer insights, competitors


• Able to maintain a good eye for detail


• Articulate and persuasive in presenting your work


• Able to work in teams, under pressure and deliver against deadlines
