Are you the one?

Are you an experienced PCB Design Engineer with expertise in developing secure and high-performance PCBs for specialized electronic systems? We are seeking a skilled engineer to join our team and contribute to the design of printed circuit boards for an advanced palm vein scanner. If you excel in designing reliable, secure PCBs and have a passion for biometric technology, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop PCB layouts for the palm vein scanner, focusing on high-resolution imaging, sensor integration, and secure data handling.

  • Create detailed PCB schematics and work with electrical engineers to define component placement, routing, and signal integrity, ensuring robust security measures.

  • Implement and validate security features in PCB design, including secure boot mechanisms, encryption, and anti-tamper protections similar to those used in hardware wallets.

  • Conduct signal integrity and thermal analysis to ensure PCB designs meet performance requirements and maintain reliability under operational conditions.

  • Generate and maintain PCB design documentation, including schematics, layout files, assembly drawings, and testing procedures.

  • Coordinate with fabrication and assembly partners to ensure PCBs are manufactured and assembled according to design specifications and security standards.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve design issues during prototype development and production, including analysis of failure modes and design adjustments.

  • Stay informed about advancements in PCB design technology, biometric systems, and security practices to apply best practices and innovative solutions.

Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in PCB design and layout, with a focus on high-resolution imaging systems and secure designs.

  • Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Autodesk Eagle, Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, or similar.

  • Strong understanding of electronic components, circuit design, and signal integrity principles relevant to imaging and sensor applications.

  • Knowledge of security measures for embedded systems, including secure boot, encryption, and anti-tamper technologies.

  • Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT) principles to ensure design quality and testability.

  • Familiarity with PCB fabrication processes and assembly techniques, including considerations for secure and precise sensor integration.

  • Ability to perform thermal and electrical analysis to optimize PCB performance in biometric systems.

  • Experience with Gerber file generation and working with PCB manufacturing and assembly vendors.

  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills to address and resolve design challenges effectively.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with flexible or rigid-flex PCB design for compact or integrated systems.

  • Knowledge of RF PCB design and EMI/EMC considerations relevant to sensor systems.

  • Familiarity with mechanical CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) for integration with device enclosures.

  • Experience in automated design tools for signal integrity and thermal analysis.

  • Understanding of biometric systems and their specific PCB design requirements.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment.
