OAK Network is a growing team of passionate humans on a mission to make crypto and DeFi accessible to all. We are an automation-first blockchain building across all protocols. We believe that code is read much more frequently that it is written, so we want folks who believe in the beauty of readable code.

OAK welcomes everyone of all backgrounds to apply. If you’re new to blockchain, no problem, we’re here to get you ramped as quickly as possible into the future of technology. If you’re a vet, awesome, come teach us things.

Our ecosystem of choice (to start) is the Polkadot ecosystem, thus we are building off of the Substrate framework coding in Rust, which compiles to WebAssembly. We will also have opportunities to code in Typescript/Javascript.

As a DevOps Engineer, you will interact with blockchain infrastructure (crypto tools like SubKey, and OnFinality), Docker, AWS Services such as EC2, API Gateway, Lambdas, VPC (security groups, subnets, etc.), and other centralized data stores like MongoDB (for our web applications).

Feel free to break the rules, but here are some guardrails…

  • At least 2+ years of professional experience managing developer operations, servers utilizing the infrastructure as code practices

  • Demonstrated understanding with one or more programming languages, including but not limited to: Unix/Linux command line languages, Typescript/Javascript, Python, or Rust

  • Proactive communication skills and a desire to work across timezones

  • A research and problem solving mindset

We might break the rules too, but here’s what you can expect from our interview process…

  • An initial non-technical call with a co-founder

  • One live coding sessions with our engineers

  • One system design discussion

  • One on-site coding panel with our engineers

Given our founding team’s diverse backgrounds (immigrant, women-led and minority founders), we believe in everyone’s perspectives being included. We are crypto-native and decentralized in our decision making. We’re committed to equal opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, gender, gender identity, parental or pregnancy status, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or veteran status.
