UX/UI Designer

EmergentX is a venture studio dedicated to building innovative ideas into thriving businesses. We help create high-potential, scalable projects and incubate disruptive ventures in-house, using our expertise in emerging technologies such as blockchain, to take ideas from concept to market. Before EmergentX, our founding team launched Paidy, a payments company in Japan, which was acquired by PayPal Inc. in September 2021. They also created Wavecell, a cloud communication company based in Singapore, which was acquired by 8x8 Inc. in July 2019.

The Role

We’re looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join our fully remote team, working from anywhere in Europe or the Middle East time zones. You’ll be focused on designing intuitive, elegant and user-friendly experiences across web and mobile platforms. From early wireframes to high-fidelity UI, you’ll help shape how users interact with a range of web2 and web3 products.

You’ll collaborate closely with product visionaries, project managers, and developers, owning the design process from research to delivery. Expect fast feedback cycles, async updates and a close working rhythm with engineers to bring designs to life with precision. You’ll also need to work independently, contribute your own ideas and take initiative when exploring new UX improvements or UI directions.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver seamless UX flows and polished UI for desktop, mobile and web apps


• Conduct user research and usability testing to validate decisions and uncover insights


• Translate concepts into wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs


• Apply the unique brand identity of each portfolio company across product interfaces and experiences


• Develop and maintain consistent design systems and reusable UI components


• Champion the user perspective while balancing business and technical needs


• Stay current on design trends and best practices, especially in digital and emerging tech

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience designing and delivering real-world UX/UI work


• Strong portfolio showcasing intuitive, well-crafted digital interfaces


• Proficient with Figma (or similar design/prototyping tools)


• Solid understanding of responsive design, visual hierarchy and accessibility


• Comfortable with user research, usability testing, and incorporating feedback into design iterations


• Experience working in fast-paced, collaborative and remote teams


• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English


• Able to work autonomously and contribute new ideas proactively


• Familiar with design systems and component-based workflows


• Nice to have: Frontend development skills, especially in JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like Next.js


• Bonus: Experience with Webflow, animation tools or 3D/web design


• Bonus: Interest and familiarity with Web3, crypto or decentralized platforms
