Job description

Our fintech client is hiring a senior Go engineer to build the backend services that move money and digital assets on-chain, based in Miami, FL.

About the company

Our client is a fast-growing fintech building financial infrastructure that connects traditional payment rails with blockchain networks. Their platform handles payments, settlement and digital-asset movement for institutional and consumer customers, in a regulated environment where correctness and security come first.

About the role

You will design and own core backend services in Go: ledgers, payment and settlement flows, wallet and custody integrations, and the services that read from and write to public blockchains. You will work closely with product, compliance and security, and help set engineering standards as the team grows. This is a hands-on senior role with real ownership of systems that move money.

What you'll do

  • Design, build and run high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Go for payments, settlement and digital-asset transfers

  • Build and maintain double-entry ledger and reconciliation systems that keep on-chain and off-chain balances in sync

  • Integrate with blockchain networks (EVM chains and others) through nodes and RPC providers: transaction construction, signing, broadcasting, confirmation tracking, reorg handling and event indexing

  • Integrate with custody and wallet providers (MPC or HSM-based key management) and with banking and payment partners

  • Design clean, versioned APIs (REST / gRPC) and event-driven flows (Kafka or similar) with idempotency, retries and exactly-once semantics where money is involved

  • Own reliability: observability, alerting, on-call, incident response and post-mortems for the services you build

  • Build in security and compliance from the start: audit trails, access controls, AML / KYC and travel-rule touchpoints, SOC 2 controls

  • Review code, mentor engineers and drive technical design for new products

What you bring

6+ years of backend software engineering, with 3+ years writing production Go (concurrency, goroutines and channels, profiling, testing)
Hands-on experience building on blockchains: interacting with nodes and RPC, constructing and signing transactions, smart-contract integration, indexing on-chain data
Experience building financial systems where accuracy matters: payments, ledgers, trading, settlement or reconciliation
Strong grasp of distributed systems: consistency, idempotency, message queues, failure handling
Solid SQL and data modeling (PostgreSQL or similar) for transactional workloads
Production experience on cloud infrastructure (AWS or GCP), Docker and Kubernetes, CI/CD
Security-first mindset around keys, secrets and sensitive financial data
Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable owning decisions and working with non-engineering stakeholders
Authorized to work in the US and able to work from Miami, FL [Green Card or Citizenship only, no H1B sponsorship available]

Nice to have

Solidity or Rust, or experience auditing and testing smart contracts
Stablecoin, on/off-ramp, tokenization or cross-border payments experience
Work with MPC custody providers (e.g., Fireblocks) or HSM-based key management
Layer-2 / rollup, Solana or Cosmos SDK experience
Familiarity with regulatory frameworks: MSB / money transmission, AML / KYC, travel rule, SOC 2, PCI DSS
Open-source contributions to Go or blockchain projects
Prior startup or scale-up experience
