Junior Smart Contract Developer
Summary
Chronicle Protocol is a decentralized Oracle solution securing over $10 billion in collateral since 2017. We continue to secure MakerDAO while establishing a stand-alone brand and business proposition building the world’s first fully verifiable, cost-efficient, scalable, and decentralized oracle.

We’re seeking a Junior Smart Contract Developer, preferably located in time zones between UTC+0 to UTC+2, to collaborate with our Engineers. As a vital member of our lean team, this role offers hands-on involvement and full ownership of your work.
The Mission
- We strive to maintain technical leadership by offering cost-efficient, verifiable, blockchain-agnostic, and decentralized Oracles for the Web3 ecosystem.
- Our product aims for high availability, deployed on multiple nodes with zero downtime. It’s traceable, enabling you to follow a request across various services.
What you will be doing
- Deploying, configuring, and maintaining Oracle contracts on multiple chains
- Researching and integrating new EVM chains (L1s, L2s, …)
- Conducting internal security audits of smart contracts and protocols and continuous fuzzing of on-chain systems
- Developing highly optimized and well-tested smart contracts based on the latest research
- Going from research to PoCs up to production for new smart contracts
Requirements
- Strong foundational CS knowledge
- Ability to work independently and deliver working products within deadlines – from empty Git repo to fully-deployed on-chain contracts
- Knowledge of Solidity and the inner workings of the EVM
- Practical experience with Ethereum’s native cryptography
- Security-focused mindset
- Experience using the Foundry toolkit
- Knowledge and experience of rigorous testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, stateless/stateful fuzzing, and formal verification.
- Good understanding of the current EVM landscape, e.g., L2s, blobs, EIPs, EVM fragmentation
The Nice-To-Haves
- Desire to research and implement new cryptography
- Experience auditing EVM contracts
- Knowledge of Web3 and a keen interest in learning more
- Deep knowledge of Solidity libraries, eg, OpenZeppelin, solmate, solady
- Experience with Rust and/or Go
- Knowledge of Yul, Huff, ETK, geas or other EVM assembly languages
- Experience working with p2p networks
- Familiarity with working in a startup environment
