Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer
Summary:
The dYdX Operations subDAO is dedicated to supporting the operation of a dYdX Chain Indexer and the web, iOS, and Android front-ends for the dYdX Chain. This effort is central to our mission of advancing the dYdX ecosystem and supporting the broader dYdX community.
We seek a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer to join our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the highest quality standards for the software we deploy, embodying a Quality-first approach to testing and bug management. The QA Engineer will also play a critical role in shaping and building our QA strategy. The ideal candidate will have an acute passion for blockchain technology, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of QA methodologies.
You will manage the full pipeline from testing and bug reports to tracking the progress of fixes. Collaborating closely with developers and product managers, you will identify and resolve issues, ensuring our apps deliver a seamless user experience.
Responsibilities:
- Software Testing: Conduct thorough testing of the dYdX Operations subDAO’s deployments of the web, iOS, and Android frontends. This includes manual and automated testing to ensure all functionalities meet specified requirements.
- Bug Management: Identify, document, and categorize software defects with precision. Ensure each bug is clearly articulated with steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual results, and any relevant screenshots or logs. Proactively track the status of reported bugs, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution. Work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria, providing clear and actionable feedback.
- Test Case Development: Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive test cases and test plans. Ensure test coverage for both new and existing features.
- QA Strategy and Automation: Contribute to the development and implementation of the overall QA strategy within the dYdX Operations subDAO. Help introduce and work with automation frameworks and tools to enhance our testing capabilities, driving the adoption of automation in testing processes.
- User Experience Focus: Ensure that the end-user experience is always at the forefront of testing processes. Provide feedback on usability and suggest improvements where necessary.
- Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation related to testing processes, findings, and overall QA metrics.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in application testing (Web, iOS and Android).
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in manual testing techniques and defect tracking tools.
- Understanding of blockchain technology and experience working with decentralized applications (dApps).
- Experience with automated testing frameworks (e.g. Appium, Espresso, XCUITest, Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit, Robot Framework, Cucumber, Playwright) is highly desirable.
- Basic understanding of scripting or programming languages (e.g., Typescript, Swift, JavaScript).
- Ability to review code and code changes in source control framework (i.e. GitHub)
