Founding Senior Smart Contract Engineer (Solidity)
What We’re Building
Succinct is building a secure, decentralized, permissionless interoperability layer for Ethereum and other blockchains, powered by zero-knowledge succinct proofs (zkSNARKs). We are working towards a world where all blockchains can communicate with each other in a trust-minimized way–without any centralized entities or multisigs in-between. Much like zk rollup teams are using zkSNARKs to scale execution, we believe using succinct proofs for scaling verification of consensus (“proof of consensus”) can lead to much more secure and decentralized interoperability compared to existing bridging solutions. Given the billions of dollars hacked from bridges in the past year, this one of the most important problems in the entire crypto ecosystem.
We strongly believe our approach with succinct proofs of consensus is the end game of interoperability. Our team is small and nimble but ambitious. We recently raised a seed round from the best investors in crypto and are building towards a proof-based future that many are excited about. We work in-person in an office in San Francisco and are looking for candidates that are either located in or willing to relocate to the Bay Area. Join us!
We are looking for a senior smart contract engineer to lead development and productionization of our zkSNARK-based light client and arbitrary message bridge. We also are actively developing Solidity implementations of light clients for other blockchains to allow for message passing from non-EVM chains. This role will involve a lot of responsibility and ownership over our core product. Attention to detail and security will be extremely critical as security of our protocol is our top priority as a company. Our smart contracts will be interacting with zkSNARK proofs and this is a good opportunity to gain familiarity with the zero-knowledge proof ecosystem and fundamentals.
- Experience writing high-quality, well-tested Solidity
- Experience deploying, monitoring and maintaining production Ethereum/EVM protocols
- Knowledge of the EVM and gas optimization
- Ownership mindset
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Nice to have
- Experience working in the cross-chain bridging or interoperability space
- Knowledge or familiarity with zero-knowledge proofs
