Join the dark web of DeFi journalism


rekt.news is looking for a DeFi-native content writer to continue documenting the dark side of decentralised finance, with a focus on exploits, hacks and scams across the ecosystem.


As well as covering the shady world of black hat activity, you will keep the community up to date on the big stories in DeFi, the wider crypto industry, and its relationship to TradFi.


Coverage to include:



  • Analysis and commentary of hacks, exploits and scams

  • The rekt.news leaderboard documenting project losses

  • Governance crises and DAO drama

  • Opinion pieces on the state of the sector and beyond

  • In a permissionless and uncensorable industry, we must shine a light into the dark.

Your Main Responsibilities


As a Content Writer at Rekt, your main responsibilities will include:



  • Research, create, and edit content centered around the cryptocurrency sector, with focus on decentralised finance (DeFi), hacks, scams, governance developments, and related topics.

  • Stay up-to-date with the rapidly evolving DeFi space to deliver timely and relevant articles.

  • Collaborate with our tech team to develop compelling narratives and stories.

  • Helping with Newsletter set up and management

  • Produce well-researched articles, blog posts, and features that resonate with our diverse readership.


What You Bring



  • 3+ years of proven experience as a content writer with a strong grounding in DeFi.

  • In-depth knowledge of blockchain, cryptocurrencies, and decentralized ecosystems.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.

  • A keen interest in staying informed about emerging trends and the latest incidents.

  • Familiarity with SEO best practices to optimize content for search engines.

  • Familiarity with Markdown and Github.
